Welcome to 2022

Hey Reader I hope 2022 is off to a good start for you! I wanted to get you caught up on what is going on here in The Quilting Room. Just a reminder I don't send emails out unless I have something to new to say. A lot of what has been going on with the blog has been updating old posts to make them better for everyone. I just finished taking a class on how to make Google happy with my posts so they will show them to new people when they search for something I write about.

There is a lot going on right now with The Quilting Room. This quarter, January - March, the blog is hosting a fabric scrap busting blog hop. Each Monday we will have a featured set of designers sharing a project to bust the fabric scraps. This is great if you have vowed to do a no-spend January. If you want to join us you just need to click here. You'll be added to the email list for it.

New Social Media News

I have made the dive into the world of TikTok. I've only posted one video and just kind of feeling things out. You are welcome to join me over there. If TikTok isn't your thing don't worry all of the videos that are going on that platform are also going onto my Facebook page as Reels.

New Quilting Posts

Just before Christmas I was featured on Redfin's blog about decorating your home with quilts. I guess all that tweeting about HGTV finally paid off. lol You can find a link to the Redfin's post and some more ideas about decorating your home here.

New Vintage Sewing Machine Posts

I recently wrote a post about the best sewing machine oil on the market. Spoiler alert I didn't name a brand but the features you should be looking for depending on what function you need the oil to do. We use a different oil for cleaning rust and oil shellac off the inside of machines than we use for daily use. I also included a really interesting link about the various oil viscosities and such. The one thing I didn't include that I found really interesting is bourbon has a very similar viscosity as Lily White Sewing Machine Oil.

I'll talk to you soon!
